Actually, this is not a combination process, but a bootstrapping process.   Here's the reference.

Actually, the packages are being built on a GNU-Darwin-only box (no OSX), which has never seen the TDC packages.  Regardless of that, all Darwin-ppc packages are Mac OS X compatible, although you may need an Xserver, such as the one from XonX.
