> p. 197

> Metrical Analysis and9.5 Rhyme )-- add space after 'and'
I cannot explain it, but the space is there in the source file. My
bet is that Lou already fixed this. However, there is the extra space
before the closing parenthesis, which I've just fixed.

> --as further described in section3.3 Invocation of the TEI DTD . --
> add space after 'section' and remove space after 'DTD'
Source file OK; formatting error, will be fixed for publication (we
hope).

> --addition to those described in chapters6 Elements--
> spurious 's' after 'chapter'?
Yup. 's' changed to a space.

> p. 200

> --each of which contains a prologue followed twelve `cantos'-
> missing 'by' after 'followed'?
Looks that way to me. "by" inserted.

> p. 202

> --subtype provides a sub-categorization of the segment is marked.--
> spurious 'is'?
Looks that way to me. "is " deleted. But more importantly, why is
subtype= listed here at all? It wasn't in P3, although part=
was. Neither of the attributes is used in the text or examples in
this chapter, I don't think. I'm going to run this by Lou.

> -- each of which has been further subdivided into into syllables--
> remove second 'into'
Done.

> p. 203

> -- <caesura> marks the point at which a metrical line may be divided. --
> change to <caesura/>?
Probably not, at least not for now. The style of the element name in
these lists is obviously in the stylesheet, not the source file, and
at least for now there is no differentiation between EMPTY and other
elements in the source.

> p. 204

Ummm... will be checking on this, but be warned in advance that my
most likely repsonse is "OK, suggest a better wording, please".

> [example]

> double quotes are used for values of attributes.
It's OK with me, unless of course one attribute value has a single
quote on on one side and a double on the other.

Methinks you're right, but am checking another source before
making any changes.

> --an encoder might therefore choose to regard this not as an instance of a

Ummm... will be checking on this, but be warned in advance that my
most likely repsonse is "OK, suggest a better wording, please".

Yup; fixed.

Yup; fixed.

Yup; fixed.

As Lou says, "&winita;" (work is needed in this area). This and your
subsequent comments will be held for consideration by those who work
on this chapter for P5.

> I hope this is helpful.
Very.
