Welcome to the AAFID2 v0.10 distribution.

AAFID(tm) is a distributed monitoring and intrusion detection system
that employs small stand-alone programs (Agents) to perform monitoring
functions in the hosts of a network. AAFID uses a hierarchical
structure to collect the information produced by each agent, by each
host, and by each set of hosts, to be able to detect suspicious
activity.

We thank you for trying this software, we hope you enjoy using it, and
we encourage you to send us feedback in the form of questions, bug
reports, contributed code, flames, etc. Please send them to
aafid-feedback@cs.purdue.edu. There is also a mailing list for AAFID
users. See the file MAILLIST for information.

This is the second public distribution (where public means "outside of
the CERIAS and project sponsors") of the AAFID2 prototype, numbered
v0.10. As such, it is sure to contain problems, both small and
big. Again, any feedback is encouraged and appreciated.

There are many features missing from this prototype. Some of them are
documented in the file PROBLEMS. Feedback in this respect is also
welcome to the same address listed above.

If you are reading this file, it probably means that you were able to
successfully unpack the distribution. Please see the INSTALL file for
installation instructions.

There is not much else to say. Please see the doc/ subdirectory for
documentation.

Truly yours,
--The CERIAS AAFID team (see the file CREDITS for details)
