    *	The manual page was reformatted to follow traditional
	typographic style.

    *	Several warnings during compilation on 64bits systems
	were removed: sizeof returns size_t result.

    *	Now if some internal counter overflows, then the module
	returns error, previously it sets the value of such overflowed
	internal counter to the maximum possible value.

    *	Minor code improvements.
